Biodinamica EPIC Nano-Hybrid Composite Resin
Biodinamica EPIC is a high-density, light-cured, radiopaque nano-hybrid composite resin with fluorescence, designed for aesthetic and functional anterior and posterior dental restorations. Its inorganic filler system combines micro- and nanoparticles ranging from 5 nm to 2 µm, allowing efficient filler packing and a high inorganic filler content of approximately 79% by weight.
EPIC offers excellent mechanical strength, polishability, surface smoothness, and long-lasting gloss. Its non-sticky consistency and sculptable handling make it suitable for precise restorative procedures and layering techniques, helping achieve natural-looking aesthetic results.
The comprehensive shade system includes Enamel, Body, and Dentin opacities, along with Effect and Pigment shades, providing flexibility for shade matching, characterization, and layered restorations. EPIC is suitable for direct anterior and posterior restorations, including veneers, as well as tooth splinting, prosthesis repairs, and repairs of indirect restorations.

Light Curing
EPIC contains camphorquinone, which is activated by visible blue light in the 400–500 nm wavelength range, with maximum absorption at approximately 468 nm. The recommended polymerization time is 40 ± 2 seconds when using a compatible curing light.
For effective polymerization, curing performance depends on factors including light wavelength and intensity, distance from the light source, exposure time, and composite layer thickness. For layering techniques, apply the composite in 1–2 mm increments and light-cure each layer according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Composition
Methacrylic monomer matrix, inorganic fillers, photoinitiators, stabilizer, preservative, and pigments.
.FAQs
1. What is Biodinamica EPIC composite resin used for?
Biodinamica EPIC is indicated for definitive aesthetic anterior and posterior restorations, including veneers. It can also be used for tooth splinting, prosthesis repairs, and repairs of indirect restorations.
2. What are the main advantages of EPIC composite resin?
EPIC offers high mechanical strength, excellent polishability, fluorescence, a smooth high-gloss finish, and easy sculpting. Its comprehensive shade system and three main opacity levels—Enamel, Body, and Dentin—make it suitable for aesthetic layering techniques.
3. How long does EPIC composite resin need to be light-cured?
EPIC should be light-cured for 40 ± 2 seconds when using a curing light operating within the 400–500 nm wavelength range. For layered restorations, apply 1–2 mm increments and cure each layer individually according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
